Cycle-Wise Thames Valley was established by Darryl and Steve in May 2010, who happened to meet, after them moving in two doors apart. They found they had a mutual interest, not only in quality delivery of instruction, but also going the extra mile to help people and local projects thrive in connection with cycling.

Steve Roberts is a qualified middle years teacher, with over a decades experience in community development, as well as local authority road safety teams. Steve trained as an instructor in 2001, by then national leaders City of York, upgrading to Department for Transport 'Bikeability' registration in 2007.  He is also an accredited Cytech cycle mechanic, British Cycling Coach and Sky Ride leader.  Steve raced, achieving British Best All Rounder national rankings, pre 2000. He enjoys long tours, like the John O'Groats Land End, in the UK as well as abroad.  He holds a BSc in Environmental and Social Sciences linked with a passion for sustainability & cycling.  A passion which Steve is hoping to pass onto his two children.

Darryl Boot is a professional actor who has always enjoyed his cycling. Whilst living in Hillingdon he trained as a Bikeability instructor and taught in schools all over the borough. Having moved to South Bucks he started Cycle-wise with Steve. He is also a trained Cytech bike mechanic and Sky Ride Leader.  Darryl is also learning BSL (British Sign Language)with a view to becoming an interpreter.
